Fees and Billing

Q: What is the fee to use the PatentTerm Online service? What's included?

A: The fee to use PatentTerm Online is $200 per patent application. This includes unlimited access to the application for one year, pursuant to the terms of the User Agreement. The fee for applications where the client is the applicant and qualifies for Small Entity Status under 37 CFR ยง 1.27(c) is one-half, or $100, similar to the discount offered by the Patent Office.

Q: Is sales tax charged on this transaction?

A: Due to the nature of PatentTerm Online as an online service, this transaction is not a taxable purchase.

Q: What credit cards do you accept?

A: For individual applications, PatentTerm Online accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Annual enterprise subscriptions are invoiced and are payable by check.

Q: When is my credit card charged?

A: Your credit card is charged at the time you create your new application.

Q: Who do I contact if I have question about a credit card charge?

A: If you have a question about a credit card charge, please contact us via e-mail to Support@PatentTerm.com or via telephone at (703) 691-2300.

Q: Is there a charge to create a user account?

A: There is no charge to create a user account. And, the new account will include several sample applications allowing you to evaluate the service without cost or obligation.

Q: What are account credits?

A: In special circumstances (e.g., special offers and training), an account credit can be used to pay for an application. One credit is needed.

Q: How can I print a receipt copy later?

A: For credit card transactions, you can print copies of your receipts at anytime prior to the deletion or expiration of your application. Simply logon to your account, click My Account, and then View Receipts. A list of your receipts will be displayed. Individual application receipts are not available for applications created under enterprise subscriptions, sample applications, or applications created during beta testing.
